20 Oct 2011 - Day 11 in Korea

Did you notice I did not talk about my lunch for Day 11??  That's because I did not take any lunch....by the time I noticed, it was about 3pm. Decided to take the subway to  Gwanghwamun station for an early dinner at Gwanghwamun Jip 광화문집.   You bet I was hungry!!

I love all the Korean meals that I had during this trip.  Gwanghwamun Jip 광화문집 was one of my favorite eating places, which I wanted to highlight.   Many thanks to zenkimchi who introduced this place.   Check out his website because he had given very good directions how to get to Gwanghwamun Jip 광화문집.   Although it was located at the back of some quiet lane but it was not difficult to locate.

There were two ladies in the shop.  I supposed they were the bosses.  They were very engrossed in watching their drama when I entered the shop.   I can understand how they feel!!  I love watching Korean dramas especially romance comedy!!   Korean celebrities epecially the actors can really cry and melt one's heart....Hahahaaa....but I don't like sad drama as it will make me cry and sad for a long time....
The moment I was seated, one of the lady in the shop served me with Pork Kimchi Jjigae, 돼지김치 찌개.  No second thoughts on whether I could finish it up all by myself because I was super hungry by then! I told the lady that I also wanted Gaeran Mari, 계란마리 because they were known for that too  ^^

I wondered how many eggs did she used in her 계란마리 ....Heck care because this egg roll omelette was so niceee!!!

Both ladies suddenly disappeared out of my sight and even closed the door behind them!  They must have trust me a lot...hahahaaa....I was all alone in this shop for at least 5 mins but I was happy because I can take as many pictures as I wanted!

Testimonials!

Do you think I can finish my food?  Of course!!!  It was a great meal.  I enjoyed eating here a lot  ^^  Besides the fact that the food was good, I felt happy to be eating in simple and homely places like this, where the common Koreans will patronise  ^^
There was an 아저씨 who also have the same food as me except for the egg roll omelette....Hmmm....which means I ate more than him?!!  Ooppssss....
Before I left, I asked the lady in charge whether I can take a few pictures.  She nodded her head with a big smile!

I walked straight and turned right after coming out from N'Seoul Tower to find my way to take the shuttle bus ...

Signage to direct you to the bus stop

Walking down the slope

Keep on walking straight until you come to a point where you need to turn right to take a shuttle bus.   Not to worry, the bus stop will be very obvious.  I guess there will be many people waiting for their buses at the bus stop.

I took bus no. 2 to get to Dongguk Univ. Station because I was not sure where the rest of the stops were. I thought getting to the near subway station would be easier for me.

I think I used my T money to pay for the bus fare

Excited to be on the bus once again  ^^
Hmmm.....too excited that I forgot to take note of the stops ..

Glad that I did not miss my stop afterall.  I alighted at the correct stop and saw this.   It looked like a park...

There you are! Dongguk University!  Facing this direction , the subway station will be on your right.

20 Oct 2011 - Day 11 in Korea

I bought my ticket which include both Teddy Bear Museum and Observatory Tower.  There are two sections for the Teddy Bear Museum.  The guide will advise you to check out the Teddy Bear Museum before proceeding up to the Observatory.

Checking out the Teddy Bear Museum

This is so cute!!!   Bear Bear having their Saju read ^^

대한민국!!

In my personal opinion, nothing much to see at the Teddy Bear Museum...Only this bear bear caught my attraction   ㅎㅎㅎ  Up next is the Observatory!

Tower..Tower....Tower...I burnt a lot of calories becos of you..

Love locks  ^^
I didn't contribute any locks ㅎㅎㅎ
but I hope all good wishes come true  ^^

Whenever I looked at this chair, I felt it looked broken hearted....but I don't wish for anyone to feel heart broken here.
행복하게 ^^

Still at the platform where all the love locks are .. Nice view from here  ^^

Beautiful clouds above ^^

I spent more time looking up the beautiful sky than looking at the love locks!

20 Oct 2011 - Day 11 in Korea

After breakfast at Caffe Pascucci, I walked to Myeongdong Station, exit 3.. I turn left after coming out from exit 3.  There will be a split road ahead.  Keep to the right side and  walk up slope.....I passed by Namsan Guest House along the way...

Walking up slope ...I have a feeling that I am taking a longer route to get to Namsan Park but that's ok for me.

Ginseng?

Passed by here.  Turn to your right at this point of time.

Namsan Park was on my right

Looking from across the road.   That's the way up to Namsan park.

The official walk had only just began....

I wondered why the word "囍" was printed on the lamps...  I thought "囍" was only used for weddings?

Adoring the greens ^^

Changing foliage  ^^
I was so engrossed in taking pictures that I actually missed the signage to Namsan Park.  Overshot quite a bit and I had to retrace my steps...I saw many office workers in their suits and office wear in the park at this hour of the day.   Were they passing by??  Or were they taking a stroll in the park??   How long is their lunch hour??  Don't they feel uncomfortable with their suits and shiny shoes walking on the slopes??  Gees....I am really curious..

I love this!

Angel's feather?

Still very much at the beginning...

Trying its best to grow strong and healthy before cold winter arrives...

Don't think I wanted to walk back to take the cable car...but this could probably be a bad decision...or rather an unforgettable decision made..you will see why...

Oh!!  Three different foliage!  너무 예뻐  ^^

I kept asking myself,"Have I reached the top?"
Nope....I was not there yet...still a distance away...

Looking at the city through a frame of branches

Feeling extremely hot by the time I reached here but the view was awesome.  It was very nice to see the clear blue sky.

Maybe there was cool breeze but I can only remember my hot autumn at Namsan because I really walked a lot...a lot...a lot......Well, I am grateful to be able to check out Namsan in such good weather.  Did I made the wrong decision not to take the cable car??   There's pros and cons in everything.  I don't regret my decision because I could get to take better pictures by walking up my way....hmm...a memorable walk indeed  ㅎㅎㅎ

Continue to climb the stairs....still a long way ahead...
I thought I was almost there but nooo........

Appreciate every moment in life

What do I call this place?  A signalling tower?   N'Seoul Tower is really not far from here  when you see this ^^
